The Battery: The Critical Link Engineers Too Often Overlook

When designing a professional FPV drone, engineers readily invest in motors, ESCs, or flight controllers — and sometimes neglect what actually governs the entire power chain: the battery. An undersized LiPo cell in terms of discharge rate, even paired with a perfectly engineered drivetrain, will cap performance, increase internal resistance under load, and dramatically shorten the pack’s service life.

It is precisely to meet these real-world demands that Sujor Energy Technology (Shenzhen) developed its high-performance FPV LiPo battery lineup — now available through ARTRONIK.

What “160C” Actually Means

The C-rate expresses the maximum continuous discharge current relative to the nominal capacity. For a 1,680 mAh cell rated at 160C:

I_max = C × Q = 160 × 1.68 A = 268.8 A continuous discharge

This is the current level that competition brushless motors demand during full-throttle acceleration, high-load aerobatic maneuvers, or aggressive takeoffs in heavy configurations. Falling short of this threshold means accepting voltage sag under load — which translates directly into motor torque loss and the risk of a flight controller brown-out.

The Sujor FPV lineup is built around optimized LiCoO₂ cell chemistry and a proprietary electrolyte formulation designed to maximize the Wh/g ratio while keeping internal resistance (IR) to a minimum.

2 · SUJOR 22.2V 6S1P 1550mAh 160C — Versatility and Agility

Same voltage and discharge rate (160C) as the flagship, in a slightly lighter build. This model is the preferred choice for industrial freestyle applications or fleets where the mass-to-energy balance is critical — infrastructure inspection, rapid mapping, light-payload delivery in constrained environments.

3 · SUJOR 22.2V 6S1P 1350mAh 160C — Maximum Compactness

The lightest pack in the 6S lineup. Ideal for 3″ to 5″ frames in competitive builds or embedded applications where form factor is the primary constraint. Retains the full 160C discharge rating, ensuring complete compatibility with high-performance ESCs.

4 · SUJOR 14.8V 4S1P 850mAh 160C — Entry-Level Without Compromise

ParameterValue
Configuration4S1P
Nominal voltage14.8 V
Nominal capacity850 mAh
Discharge rate160C

Designed for micro FPV drones and development platforms. This 4S format retains the full discharge characteristics of the lineup, making it an excellent candidate for motor test benches, lightweight prototypes, and indoor flight applications.

What Sets Sujor Apart: Industrial Manufacturing

Sujor operates its own cell and pack manufacturing lines, with over 500 skilled workers across 25 lean production lines. Daily output exceeds 600,000 Ah — a volume that ensures availability for both individual orders and high-volume industrial supply runs.

Every pack goes through rigorous quality control covering:

  • Cycle-by-cycle capacity testing
  • Cell-by-cell internal resistance measurement
  • Pack balance verification (inter-cell voltage delta)
  • Abuse testing (overcharge, short circuit, thermal shock)

Customization: Your Specifications, Their Engineering

Beyond catalog references, Sujor offers a full custom pack service covering the complete triad:

  • Cell — chemistry, form factor, capacity
  • BMS (Battery Management System) — protection thresholds, CAN/SMBus communication
  • Structure — dimensions, connectors, thermal enclosure

For integrators and OEMs developing proprietary platforms, this means access to a qualified source without the prohibitive minimum order quantities typically found in this segment.
